YourTrip ("we", "us") helps newcomers plan for and explore a new Canadian city. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices.
Information we collect
- Account information — your email address and (optionally) your name, when you create an account.
- Your activity in the app — the city you choose, AI itineraries you generate, and the places you save, check in to, or book.
- Technical data — basic, standard request/usage information needed to run and secure the service.
We do not collect your device's precise GPS location in the background. We do not sell your personal information.
How we use it
- To provide the core features — generating itineraries, and saving/booking/checking in to listings.
- To operate, secure, and improve the service.
Service providers
We share data only with providers that run the product on our behalf:
- Supabase — authentication, database, and storage (data hosted in Canada).
- OpenAI — generates your AI itinerary from the trip preferences you submit.
- Vercel — application hosting.
AI itinerary generation (third-party AI)
When you choose to generate an AI itinerary, the trip details you enter — destination, dates, interests, group size, budget, dietary needs, and any notes — are sent to OpenAI, a third-party AI service located in the United States, for the sole purpose of producing your itinerary. Under OpenAI's API terms this data is not used to train its models and is protected to a standard comparable to this policy. We ask for your explicit consent in the app before any of these details are shared, and we do not send your name, email, or account identifiers to OpenAI. You can use the rest of YourTrip without generating an AI itinerary.
Data retention & your rights
We keep your data while your account is active. You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data at any time by contacting us. To delete your account and everything attached to it, see Delete your account.
Children
YourTrip is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected by the "last updated" date above.
